Liverpool Tattoo convention 2013

I had a great time at the Liverpool Tattoo convention this year. The venue was amazing, slightly on the warm side but no doubt the hundred of visitors added to that effect. I’ll be working on the photographs this evening so check back, and look out for the posts for the completed gallery

The Grant family reunion

On Saturday the 23rd of February, I was fortunate enough to be asked to come and photograph a family reunion. It was being held at Penwortham Golf club near the city centre of Preston.

In terms of a location it was pretty decent, I didn’t foresee any issues with being able to take photographs. Originally I had scouted the location earlier in the week, and visualised an area to set up the lighting. However upon arrival it was clear this wouldn’t work as the space was quite confined. This didn’t pose a problem at all after all, as the staff were very helpful and suggested a room that I could use.

I was able to set up four lights, and the background. It took about an hour to get all the equipment set up and after a few test shots I was ready to go.

The results of this event can be viewed here

I have to say and there is a chance that my client may well read this post, and rest assured this isn’t added for that purpose. But the family made me feel part of there family, I was offered food and drink all night. The atmosphere was amazing, fun. friendly and was great to be part of.

This reminds me why I started into photography. It’s not just a means of income, but a way to provide visual punctum for generations to reflect upon in future years. Thank you all again for allowing me this opportunity.
